This Orange, CT pool was built in the 1960’s and it’s age was evident. The liner had disintegrated, the walls were partially caved in, the concrete was cracking. Like many of our past clients the homeowner debated redoing the pool but the cost was almost $30,000.00 for a complete remodel. Besides the high cost for a pool remodel the homeowner was planning to sell within 5 years, and seeing as not everyone wants a pool she chose to have us remove it. The yard was large with the pool off of the deck behind the home. On the far side the was a stone retaining wall that had been built up to provide a level surface for the pool. However this made it difficult when mowing the lawn since the lawn mower could not get around this wall. For this reason as we were demolishing the pool we also used our excavator to tear down the wall and blend the two grades together on a gradual slope. After two days of excavation work we had to pool debris gone and the entire pool area filled and graded. The homeowner was ecstatic and we were happy to help.
Below you can see the freshly seeded topsoil where only days prior an eyesore of a swimming pool existed.
